So - Flahute, what does that mean then?
“Flahute was the name the French gave the Flemish cyclist... squarely built, sharp edged and functional to the point of grimness. The flahutes did not entrance spectators with the elegance, their good looks or their grace. Whilst riders such as Fausto Coppi, Louison Bobet or Luis Ocana appeared to sail effortlessly along the road, the flahutes chugged like tugboats. Their efforts were sweatily palpable, their burly thighs pumped, their scabby elbows waggled, their knotty heads bobbed. You could almost hear the clanking of their joints...”

Looking for a new challenge after 25+ years’ careers in art, media and education, Alan & Dot Wyllie decided in 2017 to combine their passions for coffee, cycling & a good blether to launch Flahute Coffee Company - a mobile artisan coffee business.
The objective from day one was to fuel cyclists, commuters and workers in Fife and beyond with a high quality range of locally sourced coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soft drinks and nutritious snacks.
At events we can also serve our signature made to order Belgian waffles with a range of seasonal fruit toppings, cream and chocolate.
Operating now from 3 distinct coffee wagons - a vintage horsebox, a unique teardrop caravan and a trusty Land Rover - or The Lucky Shoe, The Happy Camper and The Wee Beastie as we call them - you can find us at Markinch Railway Station in the morning, at cycling, other sports and music events around the country in the evening and weekends; not to mention regular appearances at food, drink and makers markets.
Being mobile, you can also book us to come to your workplace on our regular coffee runs and we are always available for private functions.
